Data analysis

Analyses of the information in the Oqali database are used for the following purposes:

The publication of indicators on the dynamics of nutritional improvements at very precise levels (reference product/brand).

The monitoring of new products measures the changes introduced by food manufacturers via the commercialization of innovative products.

The assessment of the effects of the dynamics of nutritional improvements on sales and prices: cross-referencing the Oqali database with sales and consumption data, including information about sales volumes and prices, can be used to draw up indicators describing the food product supply strategies of manufacturers and retailers.

Specific studies on the relationships between quality/price/consumption are conducted every year in relation to important issues (e.g. difference in sales volumes according to nutritional claims and type of labelling, effects of nutritional factors on market segmentation).

All indicators, including socio-economic data, are processed in an aggregate and anonymous manner.

This type of data processing requires the use of a rigorous methodology. Click for more information...
